This was Doug's favorite room in the first season.
The secret plumbing part you need is a gas fitting 3/8" flare plug.
Now, what you do is drill a hole into the fitting directly thru the center of the opening. The hole needs to be only big onough for a dry wall screw to go thru it.
Those fittings will be placed into the ceiling and floor every 18" approx. or as far apart as you like to vary the curve of the plywood to be placed later. You will have to plan this out according to the width of the screen. Keep in mind you will loose a bit of plywood width due to the curving of the wood.
Make sure you keep the fittings plumb (ceiling to floor) when drilling them into the ceiling and floor. On the show we did not put any fittings into the floor because we cut a hole into the carpet and padding (only as big as the dia. of the conduit) to keep the conduit in place. Note when plywood is weaved into the conduits it will strengthen the screen.
Where you use a fitting (always ceiling) you will need to use a 1/2 conduit coupler to join the 1/2" conduit and fitting together. Whether or not you use a fitting, after cutting to the desired location, place the conduit into the desired floor location. Now, with the coupler in place on the top of the conduit slightly bend the conduit into the plumbed ceiling location.
After you get all the conduits into place weave cut and polyed 1/4" plywood into the cunduits. The plywood should be cut so that the height of each piece will go from top to bottom evenly.
I realize that without drawings this is a bit difficult to visualize, however if you get the supplies and playwith them you will understand the concept. It is not very difficult at all for the do-it-yourselfer. Be careful about the conduit measurements before cutting. And keep in mind that uneven floors will need individual measurements for each conduit cut.
