Sharon, I just thought of something you may be able to add to your list of Doug's compromises...or maybe as fodder for those that think he's selfish and arrogant: Remember during the leather pants ep Ty wasn't going to have enough time to get all of Doug's and all of Gen's projects done and Doug volunteered to nix the thing he had planned for the ceiling? You may have that somewhere and I haven't run across it yet, but it just occurred to me as I was checkin out the pics of him in leather (again).

I just love Doug's... overly egotistical and extremely stuck up uncompromising asinine attitudes.
And I gotta say... My 2 year old doesn't pull any where near the tantrums that I had just seen him pull on Trading Spaces (the one that's been referred to in the article as the weep fest). My husband watched it with me and there was SO MUCH MORE that could have been done with the room with the fireplace as it was and would have fit in nicely. Something along the lines of a nice nautical theme, country cottage, etc would have worked much nicer in my not so humble opinion. If I were the producer, I'd fire him. There has been VERY LITTLE that he has done (I'm a Trading Spaces addict...) that I could honestly say, "yeah, I like that." His designs seem to constantly look like something that belongs in the Beetlejuice movie. Also, on the episode before that where he painted that room that god-awful green and that horrible screen stuff. I've noticed he doesn't take the kids into account. Any room he's done my 4 children would have destroyed in a matter of minutes due to its impracticality.

And I gotta say... His tastes are fine for some, but his lack of respect for their homes is terrible. He has no regard for their property, and doesn't seem to realize that families have to live in the rooms he creates. Get over yourself Doug, there's not another designer on the show that makes me as uncomfortable.
